Simply open the trunk, pull out the charging cord and plug into any standard electrical outlet to quickly charge the batteries through a sophisticated on-board charger. Pull into your garage or any other convenient location with an outlet, plug it in and charge it up! It's that simple.
Recharge time is approximately 2.5 hours for an 80% charge. For a full charge it will take between 3 and 5 hours.
Vectrix runs solely on electricity, so you'll never need gas. It offers exceptional range for urban commuting of 50-80 km on a single charge under normal driving conditions. Operational costs have been as low as €0.5 per 100 km.
Our bikes come with a 2 year warranty, which covers parts and labor. This covers the entire bike, including the battery and motor. However, this does not cover damage caused by improper usage.
The Vectrix is assembled with a standard 2,5m charging cord located in the trunk. Due to the potential for significant voltage drop and safety issues associated with extension cords we strongly recommend that you avoid their use. However, if there are not other options you should limit the length to an absolute minimum and use a cord rated for at least 16 amperes.
A brushless DC motor (BLDC) is a synchronous electric motor that consists of a three phase set of windings & laminations in the stator and a set of permanent magnets mounted on the rotor. As the electric field in the stator progresses the magnet poles "chase" the stator field causing the motor shaft to rotate. These motors are extremely robust and reliable.
As previously mentioned range is very much dependent upon driving habits. The Vectrix is designed as an in the city commuting vehicle. In such a mode you should experience 50 to 80 km of range on a single charge. This is also dependent on additional weight or an additional passenger will affect range.
The warranty on the whole bike including the battery is two years, the expected life of the battery is 80000 km or 1700 cycles.
Recommended service is typically twice per year.
The under the rear seat storage compartment is designed to accommodate a full face helmet.
The greater the acceleration the faster you are depleting the energy in the battery pack. The harder and more frequently you accelerate the more adversely you will affect the range of your scooter.
The Vectrix scooter at approximately 227 kg plus a 75 kg driver equates to a gross vehicle weight of 302 kg. If you add 10 kg of cargo the total weight you are attempting to move is 312 kg. If then you add a 75 kg passenger the total weight is 387kg! The more mass you are pushing/lifting the more energy it takes to accomplish the mission. Avoid keeping unnecessary items in your scooter since it will impact your range.
It takes more energy to push a scooter faster because you encounter aerodynamic resistance. The faster you attempt to travel the more important this factor becomes. Also it is a fundamental characteristic of battery energy storage systems that the amount of energy you are able to extract from the battery is inversely proportional to the rate at which you are drawing out the energy. The battery pack is rated for 30 Ah. If you draw 10 amperes of current you will deliver more energy that if you are drawing 100 amperes of current. Bottom line is that the more conservative you drive the further you will travel on single charge.
